Thematic Parametric Design Tool for Event Site Generation
 

During the parametric design course, a parametric design tool was developed to generate a complete event site. The process began by utilizing the Octopus plugin to create an optimization algorithm to allocate space on the site, followed by the generation of various structures, such as stages and facilities.

Digital Design and Manufacturing of a Robotically Built Timber Tower

As part of the digital design and manufacturing course, the task was to create a parametric model of a timber structure. The model was designed to assess the tower's structural response and determine the distribution of the blocks from this. The tower was programmed and constructed using ABB robots.

Structural Failure in 3D Printed Concrete

A research project was conducted to assess the early-age mechanical properties of freshly printed 3D concrete. The project evaluated whether varying loading rates impacted the early-age development of properties such as elasticity, critical strain, and strength.

Design, Fabrication, and Testing of a Biobased Flax Beam

As part of the composite materials course, a biobased flax beam bonded with epoxy resin was designed, fabricated, and tested in the structural engineering and design lab.

This project is an extension of a multidisciplinary project in which each team member deepened their knowledge on a topic within their respective discipline. In this specific project, I focused on detailing an innovative connection that extended an old concrete structure with a new timber part.

For the analysis of the IJburg district in Amsterdam, the project focused on urban planning and architectural design. The team explored the relationships between public and private spaces and conducted a mapping and observational analysis.

Digital Manufacturing and Design Using Japanese Origami and Jointing Techniques

As part of the bachelor end project for architecture, urbanism, and building sciences, with a focus on the structural design discipline. The project investigated a parametric design using origami, which was realized by CNC machining of the dovetail joints. The project had a large emphasis on digital design and manufacturing.

As part of the multidisciplinary project, each group member focused on their respective discipline within the built environment. As a team, we proposed a redevelopment plan for the final phase of the Strijp-S neighborhood in Eindhoven.

As part of the seismic and geotechnical behavior course, a two-story building was assessed for its earthquake resistance. The project evaluated the eigenmodes of the structure and checked the strength of the materials.
